You didn't believe the dark in me-
I told you all I had;
You didn't think that I could break-
Until you saw I had.
You rejected me when it became uncomfortable;
Well fuck you anyway-
You didn't think that I would rebel
Until today.
You didn't believe the dark in me-
I told you all I had;
You didn't think that I could break-
Until you saw I had.
You rejected me when it became uncomfortable;
Well fuck you anyway-
You didn't think that I would rebel
Until today.
Some of what the least of us know
Is also what the best of us can't say:
Encouragement, fearless wit, unabashed honesty-
This is hindered in the PC way-
Of blocking out the minimalization of fear through comedy.
Offense is a given with brutal honesty
But when you start seeing a cigar as a penis
You get offended by all the cigar jokes.
Wouldn't it be nice if for once we let things go?
Yes we laugh at the "sinner" but also at the pope-
Then laugh at the differences everyone has
Because it's rediculous to count two people as "different."
If you're not dead, then you deserve the same love as me
And we both should enjoy the little laugh at everything that is we.
When I can let things go, in favor of building a better tomorrow
Only then can we be equals in favor of common sense.
In the darkest depths of night
When we think we have only ourselves
The world aligns with us to bring peace in our individual hell.
Someone else has had your problem
And may be having it right now
Take solace you're never alone
Some way and somehow-
We each get through the darkest hour
No matter how it seems to swell
And are reminded to keep going
When we take a walk through hell.
To all the problems we think can kill
Just keep going on a stride through hell.
This car has been a-lived in
It's dirty and it stinks
It's gone for miles and miles
And now, just to think:
I never really thought about
How good it was to me
How the first time it smelled like grandma
And how my son's first memories of food are permanently in it's seats.
This car has been a-lived in
And I crashed it did it wrong
I would have liked just one more trip
To one more great place it's been as it's swan song.
Just one more time down the blue ridge parkway
Just one more funny video with my son-
just one more adventure
to some thing we'd never done.
This car has been a-lived in
As time had gone rushing by
Objects have no voice or soul
But this car and me learned what it is-
To be alive.
